"Putting the 'A' in Access"
My name is Jonathan Gantley.
I am disabled but not in a wheelchair. I have done this website on my personal access needs i.e. being able to get into a cafĂ©, shop, and museum. It really makes me cross when a shop has a step but no hand rail so I can’t enter. Yes, if it is a small shop they won’t have the money for a portable ramp but it is a whole different thing for big chains like WHSmiths. They ought to have a ramp, if not, they are breaking the law in my view. I am a member of the Historic Royal Palace Access Forum, that I have been a member of for 3 years now, the forum helps Historic Royal Palaces make the palace accessible for people with disabilities whether they are in a wheelchair or not. We started our work on Kew Palace. We are now working on Hampton Court Palace to try to make it as accessible as possible, but due to the age of the building nothing is that straight forward lots of red tape barring our way. The Members of the Access Forum are Patricia Walton and Norman Walton Anna Angela Sue and Joanna.
